Pan de Ambato

Tapados, mestizos, biscuits, rositas, tornillos and empanadas are some of the varieties of
bread that is made in the bakeries of Ambato. This traditional sandwich has a flavor
peculiar and that is why locals and strangers savor it. The predilection of this delicious
delicacy made this city reach the nickname of the ‘Land of good bread’.
In this city there are 200 bakeries, according to the Association of Bakeries of Ambato. He
60% of the artisans continue with the tradition of cooking them in ovens that work with
eucalyptus firewood.
